Cancellation requests must be made in writing (email is acceptable) to the Center for the Humanities. Cancellations received at the office by May 8, 2017 are eligible for a refund of the registration fee less a $25 processing fee.

Conference Locations:
All conference sessions will be held at the Newman Alumni Center located at 6200 San Amaro Drive, Coral Gables, FL 33146. The reception on Friday, May 19th will be held at the Lowe Art Museum. The reception on Saturday, May 20th will be held at the Newman Alumni Center. Click below to view the map for Friday's reception.

From the Miami International Airport to Hotel:
Taxi rates from MIA to Coral Gables are approximately $40-50; rates for Uber or Lyft are $15-$20.

Metrorail is the most affordable choice for getting to and from the airport. A one-way ticket costs $2.25. From MIA Metrorail station take Metrorail Orange Line to Earlington Heights and then change to the Green Line (South) to the University Metrorail station. Cross Mariposa Court to South Dixie Highway and walk south two blocks to the Holiday Inn. For more Metrorail information, go to www.miamidade.gov/transit/metrorail.asp.


Getting to Campus from Hotel:
Shuttles will be provided between venues including to and from the Holiday Inn for attendees and participants.

Shuttle Between Hotel and Institute:
A shuttle bus will run between the Holiday Inn and the Institute venue, the Newman Alumni Center (6200 San Amaro Drive, Coral Gables, FL 33146), on Friday and Saturday mornings from 8:30am to 10:00am). It will pull up at the front door of the hotel. Please check in at the registration table as you enter the Newman Alumni Center for your Institute badge.

Friday evening: The shuttle will take hotel guests, following the final Institute presentation on Friday, to the reception at the Lowe Art Museum on campus. The museum galleries will be open for viewing during the reception. The shuttle will take hotel guests back to the Holiday Inn following the reception. For those attending the Institute dinner, the shuttle will transport hotel guests back to the Holiday Inn following the dinner.

Saturday evening: The shuttle will take presenters back to the hotel following the Institute closing reception at the Newman Alumni Center.
