Early Modern Women: An Interdisciplinary Journalinvites submission of essays related to women and gender covering the years 1400 to 1800. The editors encourage submissions that appeal to readers across disciplinary boundaries. Essays may cover literature, history, art history, history of science, music, politics, religion, theater, cultural studies, and any global region.EMWJ does not publish articles that focus solely on representations of women by canonical male authors.

Please include a 150-word abstract of your article. All essay manuscripts must be double-spaced (including documentation), and should not exceed 35 pages (8750 words) including notes. Documentation should appear as endnotes without bibliography upon first submission, and MUST follow Chicago Manual of Style, 15th edition (2003), chapters 16 and 17 (NOT author-date style). Since the review process is blind, please make sure that your name does not appear anywhere in the text of your article.
